## Verdict

**Ping Identity vs OneLogin is an enterprise federation platform against a value-priced SaaS SSO.** [Ping Identity](https://startwithidentity.com/vendors/iam/ping-identity/) is the vendor large, regulated enterprises use when deployment flexibility and protocol depth matter more than setup speed: SaaS, dedicated cloud or self-managed software, with DaVinci orchestration and ForgeRock's platform folded in. [OneLogin](https://startwithidentity.com/vendors/iam/onelogin/), owned by One Identity, still does core workforce [SSO](https://startwithidentity.com/glossary/sso/), adaptive MFA and provisioning well for mid-market buyers, but its product cadence has slowed since the acquisition. Pick Ping for complexity and control, OneLogin for straightforward SSO at a lower price. Profile scores: Ping 4.4, OneLogin 3.9.

## Where each wins

| Decision factor | Ping Identity | OneLogin |
|---|---|---|
| Federation and protocol depth | Wins: SAML, OIDC, OAuth, legacy brokering | Solid [SAML](https://startwithidentity.com/glossary/saml/) and OIDC |
| Deployment options | Wins: SaaS, dedicated cloud, self-managed | SaaS only |
| Orchestration | Wins: PingOne DaVinci | Not a focus |
| Time to deploy for mid-market | Heavier implementation | Wins: lighter setup |
| Price point | Quote-based, enterprise | Wins: undercuts the leaders |
| Product momentum | Wins: active acquisitions and launches | Slowed since 2021 |
| Workforce plus customer identity | Wins: both | Workforce-led |

## Pricing reality (checked 2026-11-05)

Ping's [pricing page](https://www.pingidentity.com/en/platform/pricing.html) shows no figures. Quotes are built from identity count and type (customers, B2B partners, workforce, or agentic AI identities), the deployment model (PingOne, PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud or Ping Advanced Identity Software) and add-ons such as Orchestration, Protect, Verify, MFA and Privilege. Budget for professional services on complex federation work.

OneLogin's [pricing page](https://www.onelogin.com/pricing) blocked automated retrieval when we checked on 2026-11-05, so we cannot confirm current figures. Our profile records per-user, per-month published tiers that generally undercut Okta, with larger deals quote-based. Ask for a written quote and compare with the [TCO calculator](https://startwithidentity.com/tools/tco-calculator/).

## Ownership changes

Thoma Bravo owns Ping and merged [ForgeRock](https://startwithidentity.com/vendors/iam/forgerock/) into it after closing that $2.3 billion deal on 23 August 2023. Ping added Procyon, launched as PingOne Privilege in August 2025, and agreed to buy biometric vendor Keyless in October 2025. OneLogin joined [One Identity](https://startwithidentity.com/vendors/iga/one-identity/), part of Quest Software, in a deal that [closed on 1 October 2021](https://www.infosecurity-magazine.com/news/one-identity-acquires-onelogin/), terms undisclosed. Roadmap clarity inside Quest's portfolio is a fair diligence question.

## Deployment and architecture

Ping offers three ways to run: multi-tenant PingOne, dedicated-tenant PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud, and self-managed Ping Advanced Identity Software, which is decisive in air-gapped, sovereign or heavily regulated environments. Post-ForgeRock the portfolio has overlapping products, so confirm which platform you are being quoted. OneLogin is a single multi-tenant SaaS with an app catalog, directory integration, SmartFactor risk-based MFA and provisioning.

## Migration notes

Migrating SSO between them is app-by-app. Export each application's SAML or OIDC configuration, recreate it in the target, swap metadata and certificates, then test with a pilot group before flipping the rest. Reconnect directory sources and [SCIM](https://startwithidentity.com/glossary/scim/) provisioning, and expect users to re-enroll MFA factors, since authenticator secrets rarely transfer. Keep the old IdP live until every application has cut over. Moving from OneLogin to Ping is the more common direction, usually triggered by a self-hosting, orchestration or customer identity requirement; scope professional services for it. Moving from Ping to OneLogin usually means simplifying, so retire custom federation brokering and orchestration flows before you migrate rather than trying to rebuild them.

## Who should pick which

- **Ping Identity:** federation-heavy enterprises in banking, insurance or government, or anyone who must self-host.
- **OneLogin:** mid-market organizations that want competent SaaS SSO and MFA at a lower price and value cost over pace.
- **Neither:** greenfield cloud-first teams should price [Okta](https://startwithidentity.com/vendors/iam/okta/), [Microsoft Entra](https://startwithidentity.com/vendors/iam/microsoft-entra/) or [JumpCloud](https://startwithidentity.com/vendors/iam/jumpcloud/).
