## The honest comparison

WorkOS and SSOJet sell the same thing to the same buyer: the enterprise readiness a B2B SaaS product needs once a deal reaches procurement and someone asks for SAML single sign-on and SCIM provisioning. Neither is a consumer CIAM platform, and neither is trying to be.

The difference is maturity. WorkOS has been at this since 2019, and its Directory Sync, Admin Portal, and audit-log products are used widely enough that most engineering teams have either integrated it or read about someone who has. SSOJet was founded in 2024. It covers the same core ground, SAML, OIDC, and [SCIM](https://startwithidentity.com/standards/scim-2-0/), and undercuts WorkOS on published rates, but it does not yet have a comparable reference base. That is the trade you are making.

## When WorkOS wins

- You want the option with the largest deployed base and the most public references
- Your customers use a wide range of directories and you need broad connector coverage
- The customer-facing Admin Portal, where your customers configure SSO themselves, matters
- You are buying for the long term and want the lower-risk vendor

## When SSOJet wins

- You have one enterprise deal blocked on SSO and you need it live in days
- Per-connection pricing at WorkOS does not model well against your expected customer count
- You want SAML, OIDC, and SCIM without adopting a broader platform
- Lower published rates matter more than a long reference list

## Pricing

WorkOS charges for SSO connections from the first one, with no free connection allowance: a published ladder running from $125 per connection for 1 to 15, down to $50 per connection for 101 to 200, and custom pricing above that ([WorkOS pricing](https://workos.com/pricing)). Its AuthKit login layer is billed separately and is free to 1 million monthly active users, then $2,500 a month for each additional million. So the cost starts with your first enterprise customer and the per-connection rate improves as you add more, which reads well for a product signing enterprise logos steadily and badly for one that needs two connections and nothing else. SSOJet competes directly on lower published rates for the same coverage. Model both against the number of enterprise customers you expect in 24 months, not today, since per-connection pricing is what changes the answer at scale. Our [TCO calculator](https://startwithidentity.com/tools/tco-calculator/) covers the arithmetic.

## Verdict

Choose [WorkOS](https://startwithidentity.com/vendors/ciam/workos/) when you want the established option and the broadest directory coverage, and can absorb per-connection pricing as you add enterprise customers. Choose [SSOJet](https://startwithidentity.com/vendors/ciam/ssojet/) when speed and cost decide it, and you accept an emerging vendor with a shorter track record.
