EU Digital Identity Wallet rollout nears its end-of-2026 deadline
With eIDAS 2 requiring every EU member state to offer a Digital Identity Wallet by the end of 2026, readiness now varies widely. Denmark and Ireland have opened test wallets and France and Germany lead on developer access, while Germany has said its state wallet will launch on 2 January 2027.
