Terms of Use

Last updated June 2026.

Start with Identity is an independent, non-profit, community-driven knowledge portal. By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The content

Everything here is for general information only and is not professional, legal, financial, security, or procurement advice. Capability scores and verdicts are the community team's independent opinions, compiled from public research and community input and verified on a best-effort basis. See the full disclaimer for how we source and verify information.

Independence

We take no vendor sponsorship and accept no payment to add, rank, change, or remove a profile. Rankings and scores are not for sale.

Intellectual property

Our original writing and scoring are the work of the Start with Identity community. You may link to and quote short excerpts with clear attribution and a link back. Do not republish substantial portions without permission. Company names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary only; their presence does not imply affiliation or endorsement.

Acceptable use

  • Do not misrepresent our content or attribute claims to us that we did not make.
  • Do not scrape or hit the site in ways that degrade it for others.
  • Do not use the site for any unlawful purpose.

External links

We link to vendor sites, standards bodies, and other sources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those external sites.

No warranties and limitation of liability

The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Start with Identity community team is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the content. Always verify details with the vendor and do your own evaluation before making a decision.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Contact

Questions or corrections: [email protected]. As a volunteer community project we get a lot of mail, so replies can take a few months. We do not entertain non-professional, promotional, pay-for-placement, or legal demands.
