Starting in mid-July 2022, attackers sent Twilio employees SMS messages pointing to fake login pages and used the captured credentials to access internal systems; Twilio detected the access on August 4 and disclosed on August 7, 2022. The attackers used Twilio's internal tools to view data of 209 customers and 93 Authy users. Twilio also linked a June 29, 2022 voice phishing incident, in which an employee gave up credentials, to the same actors.
