The honest comparison

These two are not the same kind of product. Auth0 is a full customer identity platform, founded in 2013 and part of Okta since 2021, covering consumer login, B2B organizations, MFA, passwordless, and extensibility in code. SSOJet is an enterprise-SSO and user-management layer founded in 2024 that does SAML, OIDC, and SCIM provisioning for B2B SaaS, and stops there.

So the honest question is not which is better. It is whether your requirement is the narrow one. If a single enterprise deal is blocked on SAML and directory sync and nothing else, SSOJet is aimed at exactly that. If you need consumer login, rich profile management, or deep customization of the login flow, SSOJet's own positioning rules it out, and its reference base and support ecosystem are still small enough that a risk-averse procurement review will notice.

That review should look at both sides. Auth0's own weak points are the Okta ownership and a history of security incidents, which turns hardening your tenant into ongoing work, and regions where its data residency options do not reach. Neither vendor is the safe default on every axis.

When Auth0 wins

  • You need one platform for both consumer and B2B login rather than an SSO add-on
  • SDK breadth and protocol coverage across many languages and frameworks matter
  • You want to customize login logic in code, which Auth0 Actions is built for
  • A long track record and a large support ecosystem are part of the buying criteria

When SSOJet wins

  • Enterprise SSO and SCIM are the whole requirement and you already have authentication
  • Auth0 per-monthly-active-user pricing does not model well against your user volume
  • The B2B features you need sit in an Auth0 tier you do not otherwise want to buy
  • You can accept an emerging vendor without deep references in exchange for speed

Pricing

Auth0 has a free tier, then per-monthly-active-user tiers that escalate, with B2B, advanced MFA, and enterprise capabilities gated to higher plans. Large customers routinely negotiate, so list price is a starting point rather than a forecast. SSOJet bills on connections and active organizations instead, so its cost follows how many enterprise customers you sign rather than how many end users they bring with them. That inversion of the billing unit is the whole argument against a per-MAU platform for a B2B product. Model both at the volume you expect in two years with the TCO calculator.

Verdict

Choose Auth0 unless you are certain you only need the narrow slice, because the platform breadth and the reference base are what you are paying for. Choose SSOJet when enterprise SSO and SCIM are the entire brief, budget is tight, and you are comfortable with a 2024 vendor. For the established version of the same narrow layer see WorkOS vs SSOJet, and for the platform-versus-layer decision at scale see Auth0 vs WorkOS.

Frequently asked questions

Is SSOJet a replacement for Auth0?
Only if your identity requirement is enterprise SSO and SCIM for a B2B product. Auth0 covers consumer login, social providers, MFA, passwordless, user profiles, and extensibility through Actions. SSOJet is deliberately narrower and does not aim to be a full consumer CIAM, so replacing Auth0 with it works when you never needed the wider platform.
Why would a team pick an emerging vendor like SSOJet over Auth0?
Usually cost and time. Auth0 gates B2B and enterprise capabilities into higher tiers and prices per monthly active user, which climbs with scale. SSOJet bills by connection and active organization instead, so the bill tracks enterprise customers rather than end users. The trade is that SSOJet was founded in 2024 and has a much smaller reference base and support ecosystem.
Which is better for consumer B2C login?
Auth0, clearly. Its SDK coverage, social connections, MFA, passwordless options, and profile handling are built for consumer scale, and SSOJet's own positioning excludes rich B2C profile management and consent at scale. If your product is consumer-facing, this comparison is not close.
