Brazil pairs the gov.br national single sign-on platform, used by over 170 million people, with the new Carteira de Identidade Nacional (CIN) that adopts the CPF as the country's single unified identification number.
Gov.br is Brazil's national single sign-on and digital identity platform, giving citizens one account to authenticate across thousands of federal, state, and municipal services. It uses a tiered assurance model of bronze, silver, and gold, where higher levels unlock more sensitive services. It also supports legally valid electronic signatures.

It is available in physical and digital formats via the gov.br app and includes a QR code, a machine-readable zone, and biometric data. It is valid across Brazil and Mercosul.
