🇲🇦 Morocco
Morocco operates a DGSN-led digital identity ecosystem anchored on the electronic national ID card (CNIE, third generation since 2020) and the Mon e-ID national digital-identity app backed by a National Trust Platform, supporting online authentication across many public and private bodies.
The CNIE is Morocco's mandatory electronic national identity card in credit-card format with an embedded chip. The third generation introduced in 2020 added cryptographic capability with digital certificates on the chip, a per-citizen PIN, and the ability to perform digital signatures and online authentication. It serves as the root credential for Morocco's online digital-identity services.

It reads the CNIE via NFC and verifies the holder with facial recognition, then asserts identity to the requesting service through the National Trust Platform.
